Thread: Is VNC secure?
hello, using firestarter firewall. setup remote desktop connection in system>preferences>remote desktop, got domain @ dyndns.org , configured router properly. ready except firewall. in configuration of remote desktop, set ask user enter password before allowing them access machine. if enable vnc in firestarter, easy around password?
no, not secure. read comments bodhi.zazen somewhere saying lots of machines cracked vnc users don't take additional measures lock down. if need use vnc, should example tunnel through ssh , use encrypted key authentication instead of password authentication.
see these:

btw, firestarter not recommended. use ufw instead, installed default. can install gufw, if need graphical interface.
