Thread: Mounted Hard Drive permissions changing

i having issue when choose automatically mount second hard drive in system. when mount using disk utility program available through software repositories have no problem using it, have read/write permissions on main user account. when opt edit fstab automatically mount drive, automatically mount, lose control on , can modified root.

unfortunately not on computer , cannot post fstab contents know has fixable there. under impression using "user" in options , "rw" allow have read/write access, apparently wrong? post fstab contents little later. thanks.

if it's ntfs or fat partition, set permissions & ownership in fstab:
