Thread: Backing up files and avoid problems with permissions later

i have important programming files want backup before reinstall 9.04 ubuntu 9.10 (its causing me sorts of problems).

files size small im going copy them on dropbox. im wondering, when reinstall ubuntu there issues re permissions of files because old user account created them , new user ill setup on new install different?

using same username , password ought resolve possible permissions conflicts.
