Thread: No sound after updating to 9.10

hello,

haven't been using linux partition in quite few months , decided boot , poke around.

update manager said 9.10 available went it.

works great, snappy round , cpu monitor stable. however, don't have sound.

last time updated similar problem occurred , required fiddle alsa mixer, time around seems not case.

sound preferences shows no devices listed under hardware tab. i'm guess it's driver issue.. can put me in right direction?

appreciate

did try removing pulseaudio?

sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio pulseaudio-*
note might remove of backends of multimedia apps cause of apps have pulseaudio specific backend.

edit: whats sound card?

Installation database is corrupt

dear all,   last month installed trial version of cs3 on pc , when decided install extended version of cs3, it  didn't install.  learned adobe use wincs3clean script, downloaded , ran on computer, using level 1. after tried installing extended version of cs3 got message "installation database corrupt" , can't install cs3.  can me , let me know how solve problem? use windows, xp 2. appreciate help. charleshhh install what... disc or download   if download... rename original , download again... downloads corrupted More discussions in Photoshop Windows (read only) adobe
