Conditional text leads to formatting errors
hi,
i made simple document in framemaker, using portrait template:
this heading[heading1].
this test of conditional text.
this paragraph made conditional.
this heading[heading1].
this more normal text.
i applied comment conditional tag 1 of lines, , made new project in rh8 used webhelp layout. configured webhelp layout ignore text tagged comment, , generated output.
the output looks this:
this heading[heading1].
this test of conditional text.
this heading[heading1].
this more normal text.
that is, formatting of second heading lost. in output html file, it's clear why formatting lost, it's not clear how happened:
<p class="fm_heading1">this heading.</p>
<p class="fm_body">this test of conditional text. </p>
heading.</p>
<p class="fm_body">this more normal text.</p>
<p class="fm_body"> </p>
has else seen sort of thing between rh8 , fm9? know of work-around?
thanks,
-adam
i have same problem in integrated files. in case, have screen captures in fm9 book don't want include in help. applied conditional text figures , captions in fm. after updating book in rh8, lose formatting next paragraph, numbered list item. looks bad in generated help!
i have work-around. in fm, added new blank line after conditioned images (throughout book). blank line 7pt verdana no space above or below. don't apply condition line.
when update book in rh, topics update ok , new lines have same condition (print only) image above (despite having no condition applied in fm). now, however, next line has proper formatting , displays correctly in generated help.
the downside have lines in fm files, alters spacing. tried conditioning lines online breaks formatting of next line again. decided live trade-off.
i hope helps!
kim
