Text field with promp msg only when the field is empty

i want make textfield prompt message problem google code prompt msg shown when textfield not clicked, want show prompt msg when text field clicked,when type letter inside textfield vanishes , when delete of it, i'll see prompt msg again , want load cursur @ text field when page loaded, how can achieve that?

if have "enter name" in text field , doesn't go away when click on it, have delete of characters.  seems rather annoying, sure want that?  suppose can setselection prompt highlighted first character deletes whole prompt, doesn't seem standard experience.

 

normally remove , replace prompts on focus_in , focus_out events
