ESP8266 ESP-12e not responding to AT commands

dear sir,


i have arduino uno r3 , esp8266 esp-12e (by wangtongze).
basically, want send 2 numbers arduino laptop, haven't reached there yet.
i trying see if esp8266 working. sending @ commands esp8266 not responding.
i using lm1117 3.3 v.
here way have connections:
arduino     esp8266
   tx                  tx
   rx                  rx
   gnd               gnd
   5v   to input pin of lm1117
   the output pin of lm1117 connected vcc , chp_en of esp8266
   the gnd pin of lm1117 connected gnd of arduino , esp8266

can please tell me wrong?

probably should be

tx <-> rx
rx <-> tx

because arduino send trasmission data , esp should receive , viceversa
