AE CS4 9.0.2 crash on any file operation or quit...

i have ae cs4 demo installed [basic install - no additional plugins or scripts] . no script panels docked.

 

it worked fine first couple of uses. crashes if try quit, import file, save file, change/save preferences. uninstalled using uninstaller. re-installed. updated 9.0.1 , updated 9.0.2 no change in behavior. have 2 days left on demo. our company has ordered production suite hasn't arrived. i'm on hot seat justifying expense expensive app won't run.

 

help appreciated.

 

workstation:

mac pro intel

2 ghz core duo cpu

4gb ram

apple monitor

osx 10.4.11

60gb free space on hard drive.

flip4mac , perian installed (but ae worked when these installed)

your prefs may messed because patches set few parameters differently. check todd's blog few pointers. anyway, first trash prefs (users:bush:library:preferences:adobe:after effects:9.0). furthermore, if have used disk caches, clean them out, ( default in users:bush:library:application support:adobe:common). , lastly, of course remove ae_opengl.plugin, if need (applications:adobe after effects cs4:support files:plug-ins:extensions). if don#t use scripts, may still need trash customized workspaces, in preferences directory.

Installation database is corrupt

dear all,   last month installed trial version of cs3 on pc , when decided install extended version of cs3, it  didn't install.  learned adobe use wincs3clean script, downloaded , ran on computer, using level 1. after tried installing extended version of cs3 got message "installation database corrupt" , can't install cs3.  can me , let me know how solve problem? use windows, xp 2. appreciate help. charleshhh install what... disc or download   if download... rename original , download again... downloads corrupted More discussions in Photoshop Windows (read only) adobe
