SEF Related Image Problem (?) - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi,

i having problem images not displaying when have sef activated, on page besides front page (i.e. outside root directory).  when sef turned off, works.

my site:  http://209.200.225.216/~exile5/

when @ source of these broken images, there stray "index.php" in url appears break path.  example:

-http://209.200.225.216/~exile5/index.php/images/yootheme/yooslider/gadgets.png

however, when take index.php out, file there, , appears normal path.

and indeed, when turn off wysiwyg editor , change image src above url, works (as did signup.png on site, why image works).

so, seems sef , index.php in path mucking things up.

in researching, figured out point of mod_rewrite take index.php out of url/path.

i have not been able work.  have been following directions , reading thread:

i think have tried of options .htaccess file etc.  1 thing have not done confirm apache configured mod_rewrite.  reason have not done because dont know how myself , need support host etc.  big pain in ass....

so, before wanted write , describe problem see if "knows", or @ least "thinks" mod_rewrite solve problem?  or if knows of solution?  or if knows mod_rewrite not solve problem....

so, or guidance appreciated.
