two days ago installed joomla. , of sudden username , password don't work anymore. can happen of sudden? wrong. yes, did check caps wasn't on  can do...? message: incorrect username, password, or access level. please try again well, simple solution.    went php admin , saw username changed. remember changed in frontend didn't think affect backend admin since in community builders component.  i thought had problem too. server fault. however, learned way answer it. go database, find jos-users table. you'll see u/n there in plain text. the password encrypted. choose password, go http://www.dotcomunderground.com/web-to ... ncryption/ , enter it, , encrypted version ... and drop password field on table. and in! best of luck it paul the subject covered in part of website - forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=10985 the md5 websites mentioned don't seem there, 1 have here excellent. i have noticed on past week or so, serious increase in number of seemingly random bugs have started appearing. first started getting "unknown program @ shutdown" problem -- no answers that. started getting weird cups issues, can't find host, , print jobs mysteriously appearing , disappearing, can't delete them print queue. firefox tries start every time boot up, though shut -- , system -- down last time used it. haven't changed anything, haven't had unclean shutdowns, fsck reveals no problems...wth? report bug, don't know report to, , previous experience reporting bugs has been less stellar. didn't have of stuff happening intrepid or jaunty. sure hope lucid better. i'm no tech guy, i'm not scared of terminal. but, honestly, i've got real work do, , can't spend of time trying fix stuff. letting me rant. though it's 1 opinion, of course, guy thinks so

successfully installed joomla (with sample data). database hard set up, got work. website comes blank page. i view page source, still blank. maybe .htaccess file? yahoo hosting doesn't allow .htaccess files. what problem? missing files? so worked way through installation. setting database, site name, admin email , password... just make sure.... did remove installation directory? can access backend section? check page source of blank page, blank? or show kind of code?
