i'm getting dread updating ubuntu, spend hours (or days) fixing issues occur result. can't imagine computer novice handling this. a few hours ago, booted ubuntu 2.6.31-17... no issues. update manager says there updates... give go-ahead. some of updates pertaining new kernel 2.6.31-19. still, go-ahead. upon rebooting, grub menu choose topmost option 2.6.31-19. first boot screen, goes black. wait. hit <enter> , rewarded "initramfs" prompt. alert onscreen says "/dev/sdg1" not exist. not surprising, sdc1 boot partition. eventually find if edit grub entry 2.6.31-17 (old kernel) "sdg1" "sdc1", can ubuntu boot. well, not always... half of time works. hate non-determinism. editing 2.6.31-19 never yields complete boot. tried issuing "grub-install /dev/sdc1" has "fixed" things in past. didn't work. i'm not sure go here. there elaborate grub2 tutorials can read try boot options

i installed photoshop 7 on computer, have vista operating system.   i noticed in "organize" screen, missing "file, edit, image, etc.... options on left side of menue bar. unstalled program , reinstalled 7 again same result.  have looked @ preferences find, nothing alter viewing of these options.  have registered copy of elements.  not having these options, hard utilize "organize option". usually happens when you've changed screen's resolution windows default of 96ppi. changing bring things normal. i shoot in raw , photo perfect 4x6, 5x7, when print 8x10, it's not full 8x10.  if "zoom fit" cuts part of photo.  how can make 4x6 , 8x10 same? you cannot. ansel couldn't. nobody can take 4 x 6 ratio , turn 8 x 10 ratio without chopping bit, or stretching, or such.   you'll have recrop correct ratio in order print 8 x 10. if go original, better cropping result if start cropping 4 x 6 (which equals 8 x 12). hi all. have intalled ubuntu 9.10 , have been having strange issues while trying install adobe flashplugin. firstly tried using ubuntu software centre when clicked on flash installer option, said hardware architecture wasn't supported. i'm using 32 bit , older dual core bit strange. couldn't connect internet @ found forum entry showed me how disable ipv6 in grub, mozilla , network connections manager. have connection. disconnect seems in way ubuntu accessing repositories. have tried reload button in synaptic stalls on first file , shows nothing under "show indivdual file information" , times out later bunch of failed attempts logged in window. have tried working source.list file friend , didn't either. i'm not sure info need provide can me if post i'll best. thanks. try running following command in terminal (applications > accessories > terminal)....type or copy/paste

hello. when trying setup working openvpn server on dragino shield found complicated process. after experimenting (literally days) , getting work decided write script file me automate process in future. script takes me 15 minutes starting nothing working openvpn server. in case have attached script. apologize not documenting code - ran out of time. use @ own risk! accept no responsibility should damage hardware or setup. use it: 1. use winscp , put file in /etc directory of yun. 2. set property of file executable, can done winscp or putty - [chmod 700 makeovpn.sh] 3. putty execute typing ./makeovpn.sh 4. install or update openvpn / easy-rsa files. 5. walk through creating server.conf file, keys , allow create multiple client files. 6. need copy client files make client(s) use winscp this. note: client files need kept secret. i have tested using dragino shield attached both mega2560 , due openvpn connect client software installed on several android platforms. found using 1024 k
