hello, purchased itronix gobook ix260+ [high spec ruggedized military laptop] off ebay came preloaded windows xp, , more should've deleted hard drive dban out of contempt windows, put ubuntu disc in, semed fine @ first screen got graphics garbled , patches of black on screen , becone unresponsive regardless did. put fedora on there, worked partialy still had many graphical flaws in test part of it. installed , turned on, same reaction ubuntu, deformed pixeles , black screen. wiped hard drive again , started over, tryed ubuntu 9.10 thinking hardware issue , maybe id have etter suport new distro, still same reaction. guy @ geeksquad. fiddeled around , explained few things , said graphics card chipset, [ati radeon rv250 (mobility firegl 9000)]. installed ubuntu in text mode, installed, upon boot had same graphical glitching , unusability, hen went single user mode , did commands , found out card was, , did else try , thing working, came splash screen , froze. store

i'm creating random quiz using captivate 4. quiz distributed on dvd users. i'm publishing html, when open in browser message " adobe flash player stopped potentially unsafe operatio n... i have noticed strange symptoms believe related. pidgin refuses connect accounts, , update manager runs slow or doesn't download update @ all. in attempt diagnose problem, tried booting karmic install instead of jaunty 1 use. both installs have same user account, , share same home partition. problems occurred in both installs. next, tried creating new user , giving administrator privileges, , when logged in user, problems seemed go away. cause type of issue? if need more information diagnose problem, glad provide it. in advance help. well, pidgin inexplicably started working, , can't test running updates because ran new account made. although still curious cause of problem, appears problem fixed @ least now. hola colegas: tengo un problema que desde hace tiempo me viene rompiendo las pelotas. lo que pasa es que uso el driver privativo para la tarjeta gráfica ati radeon 3200 hd pero tengo un problema, no estoy seguro de que esto sea, pero creo que es el opengl o algo relacionado con eso. esta es mi hipótesis ya que al ejecutar cairo dock con opengl ocurre lo de la imágen: también en mi panel inferior donde tengo la lista de ventanas (con transparencia) ocurre esto: creo que ubuntu saca una foto del fondo de pantalla que abarca el panel inferior y se la pone como fondo para simular la transparencia. esto me consume más ram debido que al abrir o cerrar una nueva ventana y por ende refrescar o actualizar el panel, hace que este demore más en hacerlo como consecuencia de este "proceso adicional" para simular la transparencia. los efectos del compiz andan bien (no perfectos). también tengo ioquake 3 instalado (usa opengl) y anda bien. veces dudo que

i installed 9.10 on hp pavillion a171on , monitor hg216d hdmi. monitor displays up 1680x1050 resolution have 800x600 resolution available display screwed up. how can fix that. thanks! look in system --> administration --> hardware drivers see if there third-party driver available display hardware. if so, install it. otherwise, in system --> preferences --> display. see if detect display monitor. if does, can change resolution better. if these steps don't help, might have driver problem display adapter. if think case, in terminal window, enter command code: sudo lshw -c display post output forum. i using trial version of adobe acrobat pro 9.  trying split .pdf document 2 separate .pdf's.  new .pdf's created, when try open them, message:   error: undefined offending command: get   stack:   /quit -dictionary- -mark-   any ideas? try method of splitting it, creating copy , deleting pages don't want. i trying create web buttons.  new @ this.  created button has 2 layers (text , background).  background layer have selected layer , click 1 of styles underneath assets panel.  these styles have set of effects.  when click style, implemented in color shown on style.  there way change color used style , effects?  example, if click "chrome misc 004" style, how can color changed else green still maintain effects? highlight button , @ properties box (down on left).   you see few filters have been applied button.   scroll down filter panel , select hue/saturation.  click on little 'i' icon , have play around , you're after.   adjusting filters change of button - play around them , see how go  :-) More discussions in Fireworks adobe
