i'm throw laptop out window. installed ubuntu on dell lattitude e4300 ages ago, liked it, kept it. decided yesterday install windows on empty partition, need native environment run games in lan, i'm attending soon. should no problem, right? ohh - troubles... windows installation went smooth, decided go evil on grub , boot in windows... after hijacking wife's computer found out windows not play other os's bootwise. thankyouverymuch. no trouble thought: i'll use usb-boot-disk boot ubuntu , set things right. worked too, no mouse or keyboard. wasn't able caps lock-light light up, when hit button (repeatedly , hard!), past loading of gnome loading screen. swearing followed then... got version of dsl (damn small linux) down , got transferred usb-stick application windows, worked pretty well. i'm able boot in linux , use keyboard, still no mouse-support. terminal too, , thought able fix things now. time put down once more

i'm running dell t5400 quad xeon @ 2.66ghz, 4gb's ram, nvidia quado fx 3700 , 2 750gb raid drives mirrored on vista 64bit.   the issue keep running audio dropping out intermittently. occurs after i've exported media encoder, i've been using h.264 in either quicktime or flv or f4v format. keep trying re-export thinking problem go away, in different spot audio drops out second or two...   i have integrated sound card supplied dell, getting dedicated sound card solve problem? ideas? much. this not surprising 2 disks in raid 1. disk setup causing problem, not enough bandwidth. on same disk (os, programs, pagefile, scratch, media, renders, temp files, etc. , having mirror disk, on ihcr chip) cause.   look here how setup disks, storage: how best pc? guides... hi,   i added drop shadow layer layer style function.  did [can't remember what] gray out layer style eye.   i double clicked on eye bring various layer style functions.  when added check drop shadow, shadow no longer shows on layer image.  i've tried work no luck.   any idea need make work again?   thanks. click left of "effects" above "drop shadow" in layers panel. has own visibility eye icon. or right click on layer "fx" right of layer , select enable layer effects.   don't double click on eyes. click them once turn them off, once turn them on. double-click right of layer name, or on word "effects", "drop shadow" or other effect name bring layer styles. i've got weird problem, need connect internet on our local network through pppoe, house mate set user account me , works on notebook(windows 7) , on fedora core 10 machine. used ubuntu's network manager set dsl connection, , works, can open google(search work) , gmail work, send , recieve e-mails. no other websites, not facebook, ubuntu forums, nothing.i can ping sites though. if connect through lan(eth0) everthing works perfectly. heres weird part, on same machine, if load winxp through vbox, , create pppoe diaup, works should. problem be, appreciated.
