Thread: Broken boot record woes!

i'm throw laptop out window.

installed ubuntu on dell lattitude e4300 ages ago, liked it, kept it.

decided yesterday install windows on empty partition, need native environment run games in lan, i'm attending soon. should no problem, right? ohh - troubles...

windows installation went smooth, decided go evil on grub , boot in windows...

after hijacking wife's computer found out windows not play other os's bootwise. thankyouverymuch.

no trouble thought: i'll use usb-boot-disk boot ubuntu , set things right. worked too, no mouse or keyboard. wasn't able caps lock-light light up, when hit button (repeatedly , hard!), past loading of gnome loading screen. swearing followed then...

got version of dsl (damn small linux) down , got transferred usb-stick application windows, worked pretty well. i'm able boot in linux , use keyboard, still no mouse-support. terminal too, , thought able fix things now. time put down once more:

though able fix booting in grub folloing commands:

sudo grub
> root (hd0, 2)
> setup (hd0)

(sda1 windows-partition, sda2 /, sda3 boot-partition, sda4 swap)

grub complains on no disks , stuff that. recognize (hd0, 0) usb-stick , can't seem mount harddisk-partitions. mounting sda1 remounts usb-stick, mounting sda2 - sdf6 , hda1 - hdf6 yields: "mount: relocation error: mount: undefined symbol: blkid_known_fstype", figure means "why idiot user trying mount something, not there?"

i'm in tears. i've been without beloved linux-system 26 hours now, because linux-iso's i've downloaded put on usb-stick has either been corrupt or windows has decided terminate downloads varity of reasons.

bit of on how can fix computer boots on grub once again appriciated laptop , me.

are running ubuntu 9.10? if so, procedure reinstall grub bit different since ubuntu 9.10 uses grub2. previous versions of ubuntu used grub-legacy.

Installation database is corrupt

dear all,   last month installed trial version of cs3 on pc , when decided install extended version of cs3, it  didn't install.  learned adobe use wincs3clean script, downloaded , ran on computer, using level 1. after tried installing extended version of cs3 got message "installation database corrupt" , can't install cs3.  can me , let me know how solve problem? use windows, xp 2. appreciate help. charleshhh install what... disc or download   if download... rename original , download again... downloads corrupted More discussions in Photoshop Windows (read only) adobe

esp8266 (nodemcu 0.9) client.write très lent ???

bonjour à tous, j'essaie d'établir une communication entre une carte nodemcu exp8266 et mon pc en wifi via les sockets wifi. cela fonctionne plutôt bien mais le problème vient de la lenteur des instructions liés à l'écriture : par exemple client.write(buf) qui s'exécute en 200ms et est donc bloquante. comment peut on faire pour réduire ce temps d'écriture car c'est vraiment handicapant. merci a+ antoconde vous êtes sous windows? si oui c'est sans doute dû aux delayed acks quote if make network trace network sniffer such microsoft network monitor, tcp server sends tcp ack segment last tcp segment in tcp data stream in delayed acknowledgement timer (also known delayed ack timer). default, windows operating systems, value timer 200 milliseconds (ms). faut éventuellement gérer l'agrégagtion d'ack dans votre code pc en contournant les infos systèmes. ça améliorera un peu les choses - mais le problème est côté pc pas esp (pa
