Splitting a .pdf file

i using trial version of adobe acrobat pro 9.  trying split .pdf document 2 separate .pdf's.  new .pdf's created, when try open them, message:

 

error: undefined

offending command: get

 

stack:

 

/quit

-dictionary-

-mark-

 

any ideas?

try method of splitting it, creating copy , deleting pages don't want.
