Thread: apt-file syntax question: how to find a program?


can tell i've missed on command, , why isn't working?

code:
apt-file /etc/apt/sources.list find includepdf.*

i'm trying find file includepdf wherever in repositories lurking, lyx/tex installation. in tex package somewhere- which? believe apt-file thingie right command, , think syntax above right. ain't working!

its not installed default, when did apt-cache search said:

$ apt-cache search apt-file
apt-file - search files within debian packages (command-line interface)
after installed, did try:

man apt-file
also found:
