Thread: Compiler for cobol + vim or vi ??

greetings im new here in forum, , have problem vim.
notice first time programming vim (i used program in other languages java, c , c++ ) anyhow problem dont know how set compiler in text editor called vim.
, dont know wich compiler should use, tell me 1 works fine vim.

if missing somth or sort of , let me know , must use vim me (due work reasons).

conclusion: problem basicaly how set compiler text editor , wich compiler should use.
btw read tutorial think name : "how start programming" there isnt tutorial cobol if successful i'll make 1 guide.

using vim code editor implying little change in approaching of coding/compiling.
suggest 2 things:
-use 1 terminal vim editing files, , use terminal compilation. (or use terminator allow split terminal screens)
-within vim editor, type:

:!command

this way, execute command without leaving vim (the command can compilation command)
