Thread: Gnome gone,KDE in its Place......

hello,

yesterday, using synaptic package manager,i uninstalled evolution , downloaded thunderbird in place. downloaded lightning calendar.

morning, when logged on,it took me kde desktop. logged on again, stopping @ password screeen, and sure enough,it set kde(at bottom of screen),but gnome option gone menu drop down.

so,i tried find software download manager reinstall gnome desktop. "software sources" password screen,i not type in space provided password. went ubuntu software, and showed synaptic package manager installed.

@ top of "kickoff application launcher" tried enter package manager, but again,it not accept typing.

so,how gnome desktop option back?

software package should download once accept password?

don't mind having kde have both.

--------------

thank you.

code:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
and leave evolution is, igniore it, don`t remove it.
