Thread: Black screen since update

hi,

few days ago ran update update manager. whole list of updates, cannot remember, background programs, nothing crucial (or thought). deselected new kernel, not installed. got 404 error saying couldn't find kernel on server connecting anyway (eventhough told not it).

far background. after update, whenever wanted go ubuntu partition (i have multi-boot system, xp, vista, ubuntu), system show circle of friends splash. , when time came other splash, screen go black, , system become unresponsive.

attempts fix have far lead nowhere. have considered pretty doing anything. can reinstall ubuntu, obviously, consider last line of defence.

have searched these forums, found tricks , tweaks, involving grub, haven't gotten positive results.

tl;dr
since update, system not boot normally. black screen/unresponsive when splash after circle of friends should show up.

have clues may culprit? or better yet, has idea how fix this? it's quite crippling, seeing how boot loader gets corrupted everytime put laptop in stand in vista. fix need ubuntu. impossible. sadly enough, puter's thrown fit, , need fix bootloader once more, obviously, not possible. possibility boot/use laptop live cd.

Installation database is corrupt

dear all,   last month installed trial version of cs3 on pc , when decided install extended version of cs3, it  didn't install.  learned adobe use wincs3clean script, downloaded , ran on computer, using level 1. after tried installing extended version of cs3 got message "installation database corrupt" , can't install cs3.  can me , let me know how solve problem? use windows, xp 2. appreciate help. charleshhh install what... disc or download   if download... rename original , download again... downloads corrupted More discussions in Photoshop Windows (read only) adobe

esp8266 (nodemcu 0.9) client.write très lent ???
