Activation / Deactivation Limitation

i wanted pass on information in case wondering.

 

if engineer myself supporting application packaging in enterprise environment, came across challenge of adobe products having activation / deactivation limitation...confirmed today adobe acrobat product specialist in fact automated activation / deactivation limitation 20 times.

 

when reach limitation, in fact have contact special 800# activate via phone , activation via internet disabled.

 

i think know reason lock down on product(s) because in day # 1 pirated application on planet.

 

a lot has changed in world sicne invoked extreme ant-piracy policy.  agree, pay need.  however, adobe forcing our hand in entrprise environment.  not apply single user scenario.

 

let me paint picture, download adobe acrobat pro 9, use adobe custimization wizard 9 create transform file required input serial # purchase did product.  bake serial # inside .mst , wallah, have isntaller can deploy via company's preferred method, ours altiris.

 

now because adobe offers world downloable trial version of acrobat pro 9, scenario works great because expire!  great news because deploy acrobat pro 9 other users (remember still have original serial # imbedded inside .mst) update serial # indivdual because bought license user...this process continue work until such time reach limitation of 20 activations.

 

at point forced contact special 800# can activate accordingly install , ever install post # 20 install though own license serialyou jsut purchased.

 

take above scenario , change pro standard , have same scenario don't have trial version expire have standard code dvd custom transform...which ends being same troubling problem professional.

 

what i'm trying @ adobe's answer absolutely frustrating problem offer 2 programs, 1 2year contract , other 5 pack transactional discounted purchase.  buy 5 acrobat pro or std licenses , volume license key.  @ time, waiting on official in writing response regaarding whethere can use volume license key deploy past # 5 , have activation / deactivation's unlimited.

 

the second , rediculous option volume licensing must enter 2 year contact, spend approximately $40k  yes right, no type-o, $40k worth of product volume license key acrobat , can use life of product.

 

i want tell me many companies going shell out $40k adobe pre order licensing volume license key package application?

 

where solution exists in middle between adobe's need protect again piracy , ease of buying volume license key simple.  offer 1 or 2 or both solutions enterprise companies:

 

• allow product install without need serial number , before product can used, serial number has entered, activated, , registered appropriate party/user, or
• don't reguire companies anty large sums of cash obtain volume license key, provide volume license key enterprise company manage while still allowing company buy per transaction , on backend of adobe's environment, verify volume license activations vs. number of transactional licenses purchased.
• i'm sure there other solutions i'm tired of dealing problem i'm interested in hearing other solutions people might have.

 

if rest of software manufaturers, there other alternatives installing product while still being in compliance licensing allowing package applications silent , no user interface while still updating serial number / license post installation.

this user user forum. adobe might answer here, unlikely. however, put things in perspective. companies adobe targeting enterprise software---volume licensing $40,000 number of required users alas drop in bucket. other companies, may large, not adobe considering in enterpise realm.  personally, adobe drop deactivation scheme. don't think people pirate software stop because of activation scheme. cracked software available on net. activation schemes hurt legitimate users. however, calll adobe's make. write software , own rights. there change adobe needs convinced in interest drop deactivation schemes. emotional and/or logical arguements won't convince them. hard data , statistical analysis will. without might whistling dixie.
