Thread: Ubuntu 9.10 - USB Drive Data Lost - PANIC! Help!

hi all,

had backed data on toshiba external drive , decided move home directory , looks did cut , paste opposed copy paste. had 50 g of data wanted moved, , in middle of move, looks screwed up.

now, there no data on external drive (formatted fat 32) , own home directory has folder same name , has 550 mb!

ok - now?

ps : sorry if wrong topic, let me know if have move ...

try testdisk (available via synaptic).

if testdisk can read partition table might read files "deleted"(highlighted in red). can copy , save them.
