Why Do People Come to the Adobe Fora?

because of discussions in louge, , on boards, got thinking this. know differ, person-to-person, wondered, why people come adobe fora?

 

for me, first hit ps forum, version 4, or so. main purpose read , learn. i'd worked though of problems discussed in previous versions, still learned lot. things can change, , change dramatically, version version, place go beyond adobe's "what's new in version x." found out introduction of layer masks there, , world changed. manual touched on these, when introduced, failed grasp potential immediately. little discussion on power , 1000w bulb went off in head.

 

i came prpro forum same purpose in mind. i'd been using nle , had spent time on company's forum, trying answers big problems. when picked prpro , opened it, lost. different. manual (they had then) , files took me far. classroom in book got me going, did of total training dvd's shipped production stuido. re-read manual , more made sense, needed "jump-start." ps forum, came here learn , read every article could.

 

next, had few problems, poor interpretation of covered, didn't it. that's when started asking questions , answers quick come. if these did not make sense me, posters helped me details. still read of articles learn. some, skipped over, because did not fit doing, when workflow changed, i'd go , read too.

 

in time, realized of questions same other posters. i'd been helped earlier, began contributing, could. realized since i'd read of had been posted on years, post links earlier discussions poster. i've never been half eddie lotter @ this, tried part. search easier then, , pull enough details memory find earlier article , post link, in hopes same problem.

 

so, me first learn, next solve particular problems , try contribute others, forum , "school of hard knocks" provided me with.

 

i'm curious others , discovery path , within these fora.

ps hey, got though 1 mini-rant on search.

the reason entered forum ask recommendations dual-head graphics cards. i'm not hardware person, rely on peers in arena.

while looking through of posts noticed things like
1. didn't know premiere turned out useful because had never delved area of software.
2. things accomplished using feature not think of using normally.

like hunt began notice repetitiveness of many of questions. unfortunately adobe deleted older threads, valuable information disappear forums.

as result created wiki capture useful info indefintely , point people details.

the nice thing wiki knowledgebase information can categorised , cross referenced. way, if land on page doesn't entirely answer question, can @ bottom of page , choose relevant category find out more.
