Thread: Karmic 9.10 Intel GM965 Performance Issues

my intel corporation mobile gm965/gl960 integrated graphics controller (rev 03) has terrible 2d , 3d performance. first noticed recent updates have caused videos stutter , desktop interface slow respond clicks , display menus.

seemed ok until except games nexuiz , cube 2 - sauerbraten wouldn't work @ all. so... followed instructions in jaunty intel graphics guide replaced jaunty apt lines karmic. updates ran , system loading videos , gui without hesitation. honestly, system doing better.

system totally clean install of 9.10. first time i've modded graphics , seems better. still 12fps in cube2, 15fps in nexuiz, , 30fps in penguin racer game. missing something? thought fixed? maximum performance can expect video chipset? seem remember getting better performance under windows xp. ideas? thoughts? can't find jack in forums.

i've got gm965 , it's terrible can't expect performance this. linux games run ok , i'm happy can forget running of latest games. in vista worse since can't play that's more couple of years old. if required video ram enough, games run slow reason. honest that's weird, there's blocking it's full potential. don't think there's more can do. it's chipset @ fault , not drivers.

btw... i've tried guide jaunty , sped things bit. i've got karmic , doing again, since takes replacing apt lines.
