i agree users should warned possible implications of using third-party repositories, scripts, backports , deb files or removing applications installed default, saying fatal mistakes little bit sensationalist.

real problem people run commands , follow tutorials without knowing do. have helped several users didn't know had ppa repository enabled.

particularly don't title of article , inclusion of ubuntuzilla on list.

unbuntuzilla not script anymore. repository , doesn't replace firefox or installed default, installs package version released mozilla , divert launcher command use new version. can added/removed without causing problem system.

besides, firefox (and mozilla engine) such important part of entire operating system, can't replace version.

firefox not "such important part of entire operating system". can remove (although don't recommend), if clean installs of ubuntu or make sure re-install ubuntu-desktop metapackage before upgrade. applications might depend on xulrunner, package manager warn if case.
