Thread: Tips for installing Ubuntu Server on an SSD?

i'm installing ubuntu on 8gig ssd (industrial grade (slc-type) isn't cheap). i'm doing because read mtbf bit better ssd , going fanless box in industrial environment little vibration.

low-load machine getting temperature data through network every 5 minutes or , writing mysql database. have apache running when wants see graph of data, can @ webpage hosts.

system logging isn't important me i'd reduce or disable it. there other settings can reduce access drive further longest lifetime possible? want temperature logging program constant use of ssd after bootup.

tips!

not relevant. slc chips have life expectancy of 6 years 10-20 gb of data
written them daily.

relax, after 3-4 years replacing him faster one.
