Customizing the look of a checkbox in AIR with HTML/CSS

after playing around styles input of type checkbox while seems none of styles have effect on it. air or webkit limitation? no matter style set: background, border, width, height, or of webkit-specific styles still looks same. need create custom checkbox control want?

is there news @ all? happy if change default checkboxes , radio buttons in application.

 

i tried using this:

-webkit-appearance: none;

 

it works in sense hides controls when add background property same element, shows default skin. frustrating.

 

i appreciate this.
