Custom 404 page

hi,

 

i have created custom 404 page called 404.cfm. usingcf8 on iis6. in iis 6 specified custom 404 page file. when user types wrong address in ie, can see custom 404 page. when type wrong address in firefox, nothing happens. in firefox not see custom error page.

 

if had setup page incorrectly, shouldn’t have been able see custom 404 page in ie. why firefox not displaying custom page? note custom page cfm not .htm or .html.

 

any idea happening here.

when page fires, sends 404 header browser, , browser interprets accordingly.  firefox has few built-in error pages can use instead of 404 server.

 

if go about:config in browser, click button , search 'browser.xul.error_pages.enabled' - set false (not tried here, a

guess).  make go away , show custom page?

 

update:  scratch - didn't work.  i'm sure there setting makes firefox override 404 error page system, jsut can't seem find - try google.
