Recording quality problem..can anyone help?

i have found audition wonderful tool audio restoration work, , natural me use when started recording own music. write 2-4 songs month, andi have been struggling years perfect guitar tones. i  have had moderate success, when tweak sound extensively after recording in aa3.

 

i had gotten used procedure, , couple weeks ago, when having problems headphone connection in speakers, plugged headphones directly mixer first time. sound quality phenomenal. blew me away.

 

i tested mixer, , worried soundcard might @ fault, (an emu 1212m), able play beautiful tone, recorded elsewhere, in wmp fine no loss of quality, assume sound card fine.

 

it never occurred me might problem aa3 until last night , morning recorded tracks in 2 different free programs, (streamosaur, , audacity), , 2 recordings made recording in aa3 sound pretty bad comparison.

 

over last few days have spent hours testing different parameters in audition.i have used both windows driver , asio driver setups in edit>audio hardware setup, , have used different bit depth , sample rates no apparent improvement.

 

by appearances, has been problem along, , not recent event. realize that, more not, computer problems can attributed pilot error, @ loss understand may have done wrong.

 

if me sort out, wuold appreciate it. far accustomed using audition change if can possibly it.

can describe difference in sound quality? audition records sound sent operating system, can't change when recording.if other progs record ok audition should well. there must strange routing audition. have selected in hardware setup screen in audition?
