Thread: Honest Thoughts Win7 vs. Ubuntu 9.10 on a netbook

i have been struggling while now. install windows 7, use while, miss ubuntu , re-install ubuntu use while , switch windows 7. has ever heard of chronic installabator - that's me.

frank, run both windows 7 , ubuntu platforms on of pcs , far have been happy both. think real problem deciding best netbook.

on thing didn't expect performance seems equal between two, bit confused considering linux has been more efficient operating system. in makes harder justify running linux on windows.

understand ubuntu has become bit bloated, did check out other linux distros such moblin, crunchbang , several other flavors. while these other distros fine, none of them felt 'complete' ubuntu (i love boot , speed of moblin impressive distro, interface felt bit 'confined').

1 thing bothered me ubuntu dialogs truncated on netbook screen, , attempting move them around no easy task. think ubuntu needs address problem.

guess in end want use ubuntu, more else, performance , features, performance lacking. don't hate microsoft , fine running windows 7 suppose, wasn't first choice on type of device ( wanted show off how linux performs on atom processor, making of limited hardware).

recommendations, thoughts, advice ?

dual booting option...

run karmic netbook remix on eeepc. quite happy it. interface works small screen imho.
