Thread: Wireless adapter crawling - ideas? new to ubuntu


so new ubuntu , installed on both laptop , desktop. laptop worked great , able connect router. desktop connects router via wirelesss adapter (rosewill rnx-n1 http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82e16833166025)

firefox wont finish loading first start.ubuntu landing page. in fact wont finish loading www.google.com either. status bar on bottom right 90% done never finishes.

here steps took trouble shoot:

1) ran lsusb


desktop:~$ lsusb

4) went network tools , did ping on www.yahoo.com

got 5 of 5 transmitted , received.
min: 22.80 ms
average: 265.63 ms
max: 1228.00 ms
packet 3 took longest

laptop faster , not have n card.

5) restarted , made sure adapter working in windows 7.
