IDE/BoardPackage Install Got Whacked

i attempted install beta esp8266 board package (v2.4.0-rc2) , , attempt seems have whacked ide installation.  while esp8266 boards show in boards menu, , library installed in correct packages subdirectory within appdata\local\arduino15, attempt compile using 8266 board gives error message neither platform nor board known.  i'm guessing package_index.json has been corrupted, or @ least not correctly updated, @ loss know how things working again.  i've uninstalled offending package, , re-installed previous 1 working (v2.2.0), no avail.  it's still broken.

is there way fix other doing fresh re-install of whole ide/board packages , else?

i wish easier understand how stuff tied together.  seems spend more time lately fighting vagaries of ide, goofy build process, , serious bugs, writing code....

please describe exact process followed install v2.4.0-rc2. if found instructions somewhere can post link them.

Installation database is corrupt

dear all,   last month installed trial version of cs3 on pc , when decided install extended version of cs3, it  didn't install.  learned adobe use wincs3clean script, downloaded , ran on computer, using level 1. after tried installing extended version of cs3 got message "installation database corrupt" , can't install cs3.  can me , let me know how solve problem? use windows, xp 2. appreciate help. charleshhh install what... disc or download   if download... rename original , download again... downloads corrupted More discussions in Photoshop Windows (read only) adobe

esp8266 (nodemcu 0.9) client.write très lent ???
