Pretty much confirmed interactivity between Word/Acrobat Mac vs. Same on PC is completely hosed in certain situations...Please tell me I am wrong!

i've pretty confirmed interactivity between word/acrobat mac vs. word/acrobat pc hosed in situations...please tell me wrong!

situation: 2 workgroups need work each other sharing , editing word , pdf files complex documents containing toc, list of figures, etc.

problems reproducible on many machine types , configs:

1. word files: tocs not retain hot links within doc has been touched mac, , re-saved pdf intent have linked toc chapter heads.

2. pdf files: have been touched mac, example edit document properties, loose toc function in problem #1 above.

in short, rots mac users have share/edit these files pc brethren.

solution found mac users this:

thing in word 2008. have pc version of word , pc version of acrobat installed on virtual drive parallels or vmware, etc. delete toc using ms word windows, reinsert new one, , use pc distiller installed word acrobat professional create new pdf cross-platform functional.

had meeting mac users explain work around , looked @ me crazy, , pretty said go pound sand, don't care if tocs linked or not.

well, may exaggerating there bit, no 1 happy solution, including myself. our big question "is going fix problem in shortterm?!?" , it's microsoft , adobe both seem have responsibility here...with emphasis on adobe, it's not ms isssue, can totally destroy working toc in pdf file editing file properties on mac. arg...

 

i find frustrating adobe not have forum cross-platform specific issues, me seems consipiritory. ha!

there no functionality on mac side match link preservation pc word file pc generated pdf file. word files can edited on mac, pdf file generation on pc side. adobe says mac word doesn't provide hooks generate links when generating pdf files on mac. unless microsoft changes things, cannot , not fixed.  must complex documentation i'd either use framemaker on pc or indesign on mac or pc. word not handling complex documentation. may time, not know missing in ease of handling complex documentation.

Installation database is corrupt

dear all,   last month installed trial version of cs3 on pc , when decided install extended version of cs3, it  didn't install.  learned adobe use wincs3clean script, downloaded , ran on computer, using level 1. after tried installing extended version of cs3 got message "installation database corrupt" , can't install cs3.  can me , let me know how solve problem? use windows, xp 2. appreciate help. charleshhh install what... disc or download   if download... rename original , download again... downloads corrupted More discussions in Photoshop Windows (read only) adobe

esp8266 (nodemcu 0.9) client.write très lent ???
