Thread: ktimer's command line feature

hi! so, have situation want ktimer count down 120 seconds, , play audio file. seems pretty straight forward, can't audio file play! so, thought i'd post on forums , see if had ideas missing. have gnome desktop manager installed default , installed ubuntu 9.10 other day. command entered ktimer's command line text box follows: mplayer "/path music file intentional spaces/sound1.wav" mplayer installed. now, when open terminal , enter command, plays sound file fine... when try in ktimer, doesn't work. fun of it, tried enter "firefox" ktimer's command prompt text field see if work instead, , did not... (i verified command work in regular terminal) have suggestions? thanks!

i know you're original post on year old, wondering if worked out problem?

had exact same desire, play audio file on adjustable delay, , wanted able loop it.

until today, have never used command line. i've spent way time reading, trying learn needed make successful command. found post, , after few adjustments , tries, worked great.

typed: "mplayer home/brando/etc/etc_etc/file.wav" works charm!

had problems spaces in folder names, once fixed those, worked hoped would!

maybe else someday...
